Mayfair and Mother's Day

On the day before Mother's Day we went to the Dixon Mayfair. I really like going to the fair for one reason...the FOOD! We figured since we were there we should do something fun for Brooke too ;) She really wanted to ride the big carousel (the girl has no fear...she is already an adrenaline junky, just like her dad) but she wasn't tall enough, so she settled for the bears.

Then she played some fun fair games

Then it was time for funnel cakes!

Brayden was just happy hanging out in the stroller, staying warm

On Mother's day we went to church in the morning and headed over to my parents afterward for a BBQ with my mom (we never remember to take pictures there). We went home after and all got to take naps! Happy Mother's Day to me! Later, when we all woke up, we went out to Sushi, which has become a fun tradition we started 3 years ago.

I love being a mom!

Brooke was still enjoying her prizes from the fair (her crown and necklace)

she was determined to use those chopsticks!

YUM!!

I had such a wonderful day and am so thankful for a wonderful husband, amazing children, and a great mom and mother-in-law who set such wonderful examples of loving their children unconditionally!!

Brayden is 8 months!

My sweet boy is 8 months old today! He is such a joy and I am so thankful that I get to be his mommy!

He is not crawling yet, but he is always up on his hands and knees. I am SO ok with him not crawling yet. I don't know that I am ready to chase him around yet...I do need to start baby proofing soon...round 2!

Brayden got to experience the pool for the first time this past week!

He liked being held, but did not like sitting by himself...obviously!

time for paint

I'm loving this warmer weather! It is making me want to be outside everyday! Today, while Brayden was napping, Brooke and I went outside for a little art time! She got to finger paint (and paint with her feet too)! She loved it. I am trying to get better about doing special things with Brooke. She is at such a fun, inquisitive age and I want to give her opportunities that help her grow...even if that means I don't get any housework done that day. Here are some pictures of her painting!

It made for quite an interesting clean up, but PTL for washable paint!
